In short: the game counts how it's played so we can fix it and make it better. It doesn't know who you are. There are no accounts, no emails, no ads and nothing is sold. You can switch the play stats off in Settings → PLAY STATS.
What the game collects
- A random ID for your device, made the first time you play and kept in your browser. It isn't linked to your name, your phone number or anything else about you.
- How you play: when a run starts and ends, the mode and the day's route, fares picked up and delivered, crashes and police catches (with the spot on the game's map), radio station changes, liveries unlocked, shares, and which buttons you press on the results screen.
- How well the game runs on your device: the screen size, the graphics quality and the frame rate, your graphics chip's name, and the browser and operating system.
- Roughly where you are: your country and city, worked out by Cloudflare from your connection. The analytics service never receives your IP address.
- Errors: if the game crashes, a report of what went wrong in the code, so we can fix it.
The daily leaderboard
When you finish a daily challenge, your takings, fares and the trotro you drove go on that day's public board. You appear as "Driver #" plus four characters until you claim a display name. A name is your choice, it's public, and it has to pass a word filter. The recovery code we show you once lets you move your name to another phone; we keep only a scrambled form of it. Your device also holds a random secret that proves a run is yours; we keep only a scrambled form of that too.
What the game doesn't collect
- No names (except a board name you choose), emails, phone numbers or contacts.
- No IP addresses in analytics, no advertising IDs and no cross-site tracking.
- No cookies. Settings, your bests and your career are saved in your browser's own storage, on your device.
- No session recordings and no screenshots of your screen.
Switching it off
- In the game: Settings → PLAY STATS → OFF. Nothing more is sent from that device.
- If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, play stats start switched off.
- Daily runs still go on the leaderboard, because that's how the board works.
Who handles the data
- Cloudflare hosts the game and the leaderboard.
- PostHog (EU region) stores the play stats.
- Sentry (EU region) stores error reports.
